Anyhow here is an update of my blanked. After advice from my maw in law (thank goodness i didn't have to back stitch 3 rows!) I am well on my way to making the first hearts in my pattern.
I was concentrating on the hearts so much I messed up my border. It turned out to be a good thing because I leaned a new way to drop stitches and knit them back up using the string they were knit with to begin with. It is hard to explain, anyhow here is my progress.
